1953 Ford F-100
From the first model year for the Ford F-100 light-duty pickup lines, which continued through 1956, this handsomely restored example also celebrates Ford Motor Company’s historic 50th anniversary. The 1953 Ford pickup line was also the first with interiors designed for greater comfort and usability with Ford’s new “Measuring Man” test dummies. Buyers were impressed, with the new F-100 ½-ton trucks accounting for half of total Ford production for 1953. Ever since new, the 1953-56 Ford F-100 has remained a favorite among owners, collectors and customizers as one of the most attractive pickup lines of all time. Produced at Ford’s Dallas, Texas assembly plant it sports a period correct Seafoam Green paint finish with a properly restored cloth and vinyl bench seat interior with correct rubber floor mats in place. Additional features include a column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission, factory heater/defroster, added turn-signal indicators and accessory gauges, and a factory steering wheel with a “50th Anniversary 1903-1953” commemorative horn button. The tidy engine compartment houses a correct and properly detailed Code D “Cost Clipper” inline 6-cylinder engine, factory-rated at 101 horsepower. Steel wheels, Ford-scripted chrome hubcaps, refinished cargo-bed flooring, stake rails, and painted bumpers finish this first-year F-100 off nicely.
