Rare as 1 of just 2,883 examples produced, this 1971 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Convertible features a straight body and a newer, exceptionally high-quality paint finish in Body Tag-correct Code 67 Sienna. Trimmed in White, the interior is original, unmodified, and presentable, notwithstanding signs of age and use, including a front bench seat with a fold-down central armrest. The White vinyl power convertible top is newer and well-fitted and the chrome and brightwork are very good. Power is provided by Olds’ standard 2-barrel 455 “Rocket” V-8 engine, factory-rated at 280 BHP SAE Gross (185 BHP SAE Net), Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission. The dual exhaust system is newer. The underside of the car is undercoated and the chassis is in maintained driver quality. Features, options, and amenities include a Delco AM/FM radio, heater/defroster, power brakes, power steering, and power windows, an in-dash clock, remote trunk release, and added instrument cluster beneath the dash. Mounting a set of radial tires, the unusual and very attractive Delta 88 – only Super Stock slotted alloy wheels are original Oldsmobile 1972 model-year items, retrofitted to this 1971 model. Accompanying items include a top-boot cover, spare Super Stock wheel/tire, car cover, roadside jack, and lug wrench.
